Important Announcement: Change of Venue
The Active Bible Church of God was informed recently that the temporary dwelling house called the “Abode”, which we were told we would be able to rent, is now unavailable to us for the Feast of Tabernacles. Therefore, other arrangements had to be made. After much prayer and brainstorming, several venues were suggested as alternatives. These suggestions were evaluated and put to a vote before the ABCOG congregation. As a result, the Church has selected Grizzly Jack's Grand Bear Resort in Utica, Illinois, which is 1-1/2 hours from Chicago. Several Church members are looking into arrangements for transportation to and from the site and we will provide you with an update as soon as we have this information. We regret any inconvenience that this last minute change may cause you. Yet, in spite of this change, nothing else will change regarding this site. We will have the most wonderful Feast of Tabernacles ever in Utica, Illinois.

Site Summary
We here at the Active Bible Church of God are looking forward
to hosting our fourth local Feast here in Chicago. Even at
this late date, again, it appears that we are the only Festival site
listed in the State of Illinois. Our Feast site, while small,
more than make up for our size in pure enthusiasm
and a zeal to follow the Plan of Almighty God. This site is spirit-led
and offers a warm, loving group of people with a love of
the word of God. We deliver Bible-based sermons and
Bible studies, sure to enlighten and uplift all who come to us.
Our light activity schedule leaves
attendees time to socialize and mingle, establish study groups, or
simply relax. Also, our close proximity to downtown Chicago
allow feast-goers time to visit some of the
World-Class Museums and other city landmarks in the Chicago
area. Most are less than 40 minutes from our site and can be
reached by car or local public transportation.
As Feast time approaches, the excitement here is building and
we look forward to Yet another Best Feast Ever.

Location of Services
The Festival Worship services will be conducted in Chicago at
our Local Church facility - located at The Hyde
Park University Church, 5655 S. University Avenue, Chicago,
Illinois 60637. This location is easy to
get to and centrally located - 10 minutes from Downtown Chicago. This
location makes for easy transportation for our membership and affords
an opportunity for others in the Chicago-land area to attend a local
festival site. (MAP)
Accommodations
We have rented the Abode house LTD for the Entire 8
days of the feast. This facility is only 4 blocks away from
the Feast location and shuttle rides to services and all
events are arranged daily at the Abode
House. If we require more space for feast travelers, we
will secure discounted rooms at the Ramada
Inn Chicago.

A major feast attraction is a trip to the University of Chicago
Robie
House, a local building considered by many to be one of the
most
important buildings in American Architecture. It is a fabulous facility
among many designed by the great Architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
We also plan a trip to the Oriental Institute, an amazing
Museum for
students of Biblical History. The museum features artifacts recovered
from many sites of Biblical interest: Har Megiddo,
just outside of modern Israel, The hanging Gardens of Babylon in
Iraq, Artifacts of Persia, Egypt, Mesopotamia,Syria, and
Nubia. This trip is a highlight for many each year. The many
displays, artifacts and the information about them bring Bible stories
to life when the stories attached to the artifacts are revealed.
